ifilm movie ‘Golden Diet’ star Merila Zarei has joined new opera-theater production ‘Seven Cities of Love’.

Merila Zarei, star of ifilm movie ‘Golden Diet’ has joined new opera play ‘Seven Cities of Love’.

The Iranian actress will be playing the role of devil in this new production which is being directed by Mohammad Abdizadeh.

Mohammad-Reza Foroutan, Hanieh Tavassoli, Pantea Bahram, Abolfazl Pourarab, Andisheh Fouladvand and Nasim Adabi are also among the cast members of ‘Seven Cities of Love’.

Iranian vocalists Rouzbeh Nematollahi, Salar Aqili and Rouzbeh Bemani have joined the dramatic performance to carry out the singing parts.

The music is also set to be played live on the stage by Tehran Symphony Orchestra led by Iranian musician Shahrdad Rouhani.

According to a media report, the new play is set to go on stage at the Ministry of Interior Hall.

Born in 1974, Zarei began her acting career with the series ‘Detective Alavi’ in 1994.

She has appeared in numerous series, such as ‘Khazra High School’, ‘Fresh Air’, ‘Time of Fury’, ‘The Young Officer’, ‘The Seamen’, and ‘The Pahlavi Hat’.

Zarei has also played in several movies, including ‘Filmaholic’, ‘The Bachelors’, ‘Deportees’, ‘The Fighter Rooster’, ‘The Sting and the Bee’, ‘Retribution’, ‘Golden Diet’, ‘Ch (Chamran)’ and ‘Bodyguard’.

She was nominated for a Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh for her appearances in ‘The Unwanted Woman’, ‘About Elly’, and ‘Daughter’.

She was also nominated for the Iran Cinema Celebration awards for ‘Unwanted Woman’, ‘Empty Hands’ and ‘Invitation’.

The actress received the Iran Cinema Celebration statuette for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for ‘Two Women’.

She received the Best Television Actress award, a Crystal Simorgh and an Iran Cinema Celebration statuette for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for ‘Friday Soldiers’.Zarei won a Crystal Simorgh from the Fajr International Film Festival for Best Actress in a Leading Role for ‘Track 143’.
